Enroll Arkansas’ parent nonprofit has received a $61 million grant to expand access to high-quality charter schools.
The Arkansas Public School Resource Center (APSRC), which created Enroll Arkansas, was awarded the grant as part of a $500 million investment in charter schools by the United States Department of Education. The Expanding Opportunity Through Quality Charter Schools Program will distribute the grant over five years.
“This grant is a powerful endorsement of APSRC and the broader work of education nationwide,” said APSRC Executive Director Scott Smith. “We are honored to partner with the U.S. Department of Education to expand access to high-quality open-enrollment and conversion charter schools.”
With $55 million of the grant being allocated as subgrants to qualifying charter schools and developers, the APSRC anticipates a surge in charter schools in the Natural State.
“This funding marks a pivotal moment for charter school growth in Arkansas,” Smith said. “We look forward to working closely with the Department of Education and our local partners to deliver meaningful outcomes for students.”
